Like Father-Like Son, 2026

This project was for my Studio Photography class. I wanted to capture the rich, beautiful dynamics of the father-son relationship, using my own child and his father, my long-term partner, as my models. Their relationship is intricate, sometimes soft and balanced, and at other times, full of chaos. I loved getting to use my lens to showcase the depth of their bond and bring their unique, beautiful connection to life.

This project was created during my Digital 1  Photography class. This was my first-ever experience using Photoshop. Expanding on my "Fractured in Time" 35mm series, this project uses color and digital manipulation to capture a disharmonious, yet enticing, experience. By exploring surrealism, I intentionally designed visually jarring images. My goal is for the viewer's initial confusion to draw them in, transforming disorientation into a deep, complex emotional response.
